Prepared after purchase. Digital delivery within 1 business day. A softly rolled, continuous shawl front gives this planned shawl collar quilted coat sewing pattern its open shape. The loose knee-length body combines dropped shoulders, roomy long sleeves and two slanted welt pockets, with narrow binding following the rounded lower front corners.

• Loose, nearly straight woven body intended to finish around the knee

• Simple vertical channel quilting and narrow tonal binding at the outer edges
• Plain uninterrupted back and gently rounded lower front corners

Dusky deep teal shows the front and back; warm stone shows the same coat in another color. This release covers one long, unfastened coat. There is no hood, belt, button, zipper, separate wrist cuff or alternate short view. The plain back, quilting layout and internal finish are Sewlore development choices.

Plan the quilt layers and collar roll

A supple woven cotton with light batting and a smooth woven backing is the starting fabric direction. A compatible pre-quilted cloth can also be assessed. The stack needs enough flexibility to roll at the neckline and enough body to hang smoothly through the long front. Thick or rigid layers may change the collar, sleeve room and pocket corners.

Quilt a sample before cutting to check shrinkage, take-up and the finished thickness. Test the collar roll, binding curves and a complete welt pocket through the same layers. The English guide will address the continuous shawl front and facing, dropped-shoulder sleeve joins, pocket bags, edge binding and long hem balance. Layer support and internal seam finishing will be confirmed during preparation. This is one outward-facing design; reversible assembly is not included.

Check the fit over your intended layers

Make a complete fitting sample over the clothes you plan to wear beneath the coat. Check forward reach, bent-arm sleeve length, collar position and pocket access. Walk and sit to assess the long hem and the way the open fronts hang. The coat is deliberately unfastened; its appearance does not establish a tested warmth or weather-protection rating.
