A raised pointed collar and a continuous cape body

• High standing collar around the back neck with broad angular pointed ends
• Sleeveless cape draped continuously over both shoulders and arms
• One metal hook-and-eye cape clasp at the upper chest
• Full front opening with a curved lower edge
• Plain closed back with a center seam
• Separate lining visible at the inner collar and front opening

Midnight plum with garnet lining shows the front and back. Blue-black navy with antique-gold lining shows the same construction in another color combination. The order covers this standalone fastened cape. A cape that attaches to a separate garment is outside this release.

Developing the collar support

A supple woven velvet or compatible costume suiting can provide body while allowing the cape hem to fall. Pair it with a smooth lightweight lining. Test nap direction, pressing and color transfer before cutting contrasting layers. The previews suggest a velvety shell and satin-like lining; the final fabric combination must be sampled.

The raised collar needs a facing and suitable support, developed together with its finished depth and neckline balance. No fixed boning recipe or tested support method is promised. The guide preparation will address the collar seams, interfacing samples, reinforced fastening area, lining joins and curved hem. Check that the collar stays comfortable when turning the head and that its upper edge leaves the face and sight lines clear.

Make a full fitting sample over the intended costume. Check the fastening position, shoulder balance, arm movement beneath the cape, lining ease and hem clearance. The hands reach the outside through the open front, not through arm slits. The illustrated collar height and back seam are original Sewlore development choices.
