1930s V-Neck Tie-Waist Nightgown PDF Sewing Pattern

Prepared after purchase. Digital delivery within 1 business day. A deep V neckline and narrow wrap-around waist ties shape this original 1932-inspired nightgown. The garment pulls over the head; the ties adjust the waist outline without creating a wrap-front opening.

One long nightgown, two finishes

• Sleeveless bodice with narrow flat shoulder sections and a V front
• Smooth vertical shaping and a long, softly flared skirt without a horizontal waist seam
• Narrow self-fabric ties attached at the sides, shown crossing around the waist and tying at the front
• Shallow rounded back neckline and a closed rear body
• A plain bound neckline or restrained lace-edged finish, backed with opaque fabric

Dusty peach shows the lace-edged front and back. Antique ivory shows the plain-bound alternative with the same cut and tie placement. The ties and their bow are separate from the skirt panels. The pictured rear has a flat tie band across the waist, with the bow at the front.

Materials and sewing

Consider an opaque lightweight crepe, suitable viscose or another soft woven with a fluid fall. Test the fabric with the neckline finish before cutting. Preparation will cover the V point, armhole edges, shaping, tie attachments and long hem. Neckline depth, pullover access and movement need to be checked in a sample, and the final length should leave the hem clear of the floor.

The scope is the pictured nightgown and its plain or lace-edged finish. An embroidery transfer, copied lace motif chart or separate robe is not included.
