Explore children’s clothing sewing patterns for everyday garments, lounge pieces and layers. Compare dressing access, movement and the proposed fabric with the child’s current measurements.

Compare the construction

Look at how a child will get into the garment and move in it. Current measurements, fastening position and the proposed fabric matter more than an age label alone.

A standalone gathered skirt

The Children's Gathered Skirt is planned around a child-specific elastic waist, a single gathered section and side-seam pockets. It is a separate skirt project; the children's pinafore includes a bib and shoulder fastenings. Confirm current waist and hip measurements before ordering. Age ranges and final size coverage are not yet established for the new skirt.

Everyday knit separates

The children's leggings are planned with a pull-on elastic waist and plain ankle-length legs. Compare the child's height, rise and leg length before ordering, and use the product page to check fabric and preparation details.

Layers for different fabrics

The zip-up hoodie uses sweatshirt knit, rib bands and a cord-free hood. For a longer woven layer, compare the hooded button coat with its planned lining. The button-front waistcoat is a sleeveless woven project with pointed fronts. Each needs its own child measurements and room for the intended underlayers.

Rompers, overalls and jumpsuits

Compare the short tie-shoulder pocket romper, the long bib overalls with buttoned straps, and the shirred jumpsuit with a gathered upper section and fixed straps. Their openings and body construction differ; check dressing access, rise and movement in a fitting sample.

Three ways to shape a dress

The flutter-sleeve dress joins one gathered skirt at a level waist. The basque-waist tie-back dress has a lowered V-shaped front join. The gathered-neck flounce dress falls loosely from a fixed neckband without a waist seam. Read each product's planned back opening and measurement requirements before choosing.
